Ellen Messer helps employers navigate a wide range of workplace issues and disputes. Ellen frequently defends employers facing claims brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and related state laws. Ellen has experience handling claims and litigation in both federal and state courts as well as those brought before administrative agencies. Her practice also includes working with employers to draft and revise employment related policies and procedures.

Ellen graduated summa cum laude with highest pro bono distinction from Georgia State University College of Law. During law school, Ellen served as an Editorial Board Member of the Georgia State University Law Review, coach and competitor on multiple Moot Court teams, teaching assistant for the first-year legal writing course, and pupil in the Bleckley Inn of Court. Ellen also spent a year as a legal extern with the Appeals Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia. Upon graduating, Ellen was inducted into the Order of the Coif and was awarded her school’s Advocacy Certificate and the Public Interest Law and Policy Certificate with Honors.

A native of Mississippi, Ellen earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and worked for several years in a metro-Atlanta law firm prior to law school. In her free time, she enjoys cheering for Atlanta United, following Formula 1 racing, singing barbershop music, and playing with her dog Zoe.
