Steve Boggins dedicates his practice to representing management in a variety of workplace safety and health issues. A large part of Steve’s practice is devoted to the administration, management and defense of workers’ compensation claims on the behalf of both state-funded and self-insured employers throughout Ohio. Steve also regularly counsels clients outside of Ohio in workers’ compensation matters.
In addition to his workers’ compensation defense practice, Steve also represents clients throughout the Midwest in matters arising under state and federal occupational safety and health statutes. Steve counsels clients on regulatory compliance under OSHA, has experience managing fatality and amputation inspections, and works closely with employers in resolving citations. Steve also assists employers navigate through Section 11(c) whistleblower claims filed under the OSH Act. Steve is an active speaker and writer on workplace safety related issues.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins in 2022, Steve represented employers at a boutique defense firm in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to defending employers, Steve represented injured workers’ for a large plaintiff’s firm. His experience as a plaintiff’s attorney has been useful in developing strategies to assist employers.
Steve received his law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Steve is also a proud alumnus of The Ohio State University. Steve and his wife, Krista, reside in Shaker Heights with their English cream golden retriever, Dino. The resilience demonstrated by Steve as a long suffering Cleveland Browns fan extends to the representation of his clients.
