Erin N. Donegan

Associate   |   Morristown

Erin N. Donegan focuses her practice on defending employers in litigation in state and federal courts. She has experience in every phase of litigation, from initial pleadings through trial. She has drafted numerous dispositive motions, several of which were successful. Erin also has significant appellate experience; most recently, Erin argued before the New Jersey Appellate Division on behalf of an employer who was accused of violating the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination. The Appellate Division affirmed the trial court’s decision granting summary judgment to her client. Erin is acutely aware of the importance of effective communication with her clients; thus, she makes it a point to keep her clients fully apprised of the status and developments in their cases.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Erin was a Senior Associate at a litigation boutique firm, where she primarily defended public entities in employment-related matters. Notably, Erin sat second-chair in a trial in the Southern District of New York wherein she successfully defended her client in a breach of contract action, and also obtained a jury award on a counterclaim for a violation of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA). After graduating from law school, Erin clerked in the New Jersey Appellate Division for the Hon. Jessica R. Mayer, J.A.D.

Erin graduated from Rutgers Law School in 2019, wherein she served as both a staff and articles editor for the Rutgers University Law Review. She also volunteered with the Hon. Judith H. Wizmur Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project, and received the Dean’s Pro Bono Publico Award for Exceptional Service upon graduation based on her completion of over 100 hours of pro bono service during her time in law school.
