Heather M. Fossity

Heather is an associate in the Portland, Oregon office and focuses on employment litigation, advice and counsel, and workplace investigations. Heather is licensed in both Oregon and Washington and represents employers before administrative agencies and in state and federal court.

With the context of a solid litigation practice, Heather helps employers to avoid potential disputes on the front end whenever possible. She frequently works with clients to develop legally compliant best practices for hiring and firing, addressing leave and reasonable accommodations, and navigating high risk terminations. Heather has extensive experience drafting workplace policies, employee handbooks, and employment and separation agreements. In addition, Heather is an experienced workplace investigator and conducts thorough and timely investigations into allegations of violations of law or policy, including sensitive issues such as harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.

Prior to joining Ogletree, Heather worked at as the sole employment advisor for a wide range of clients at a corporate law firm, as well as in house and at a prominent local employment boutique firm, resulting in a business focused perspective in her current work. This background gives Heather insight into the workings and needs of individual employers and helps her to develop effective solutions and strategies suited to the unique needs of each company.
