Caitlyn Barredo is an associate attorney in the Denver office of Ogletree Deakins and is licensed to practice in California and Colorado. She represents and advises employers on a wide range of employment issues, with a primary focus on defending employers in single-plaintiff matters involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other employment-related disputes in state and federal courts.
Before joining the Denver office, Caitlyn served as ClientTeam Counsel for one of the firm’s largest clients, dedicating her practice to representing a Fortune 500 retail company in single-plaintiff employment litigation matters across California state and federal courts. Caitlyn has experience managing cases at all stages of litigation, including in initial investigation and development of defense strategy, performing legal research, drafting pleadings, managing written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and drafting dispositive motions.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Caitlyn honed her litigation skills as a Deputy Public Defender in San Diego County, where she independently managed a high-volume caseload and represented clients in all stages of criminal litigation. Her extensive litigation and courtroom experience has led to favorable results for clients in negotiated resolutions, dispositive motions, and jury trials, and has sharpened her instincts for what resonates with judges and juries. Caitlyn brings this distinctly strategic perspective to employment disputes and risk assessment, enabling her to deliver practical, creative solutions for clients.
Caitlyn received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law where she served as the Chief Comments Editor of the San Diego Journal of Climate & Energy Law and was an active member of the Moot Court program. While in law school, Caitlyn was published in Florida State University College of Law’s Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Richard D. Huffman of the California Court of Appeal, a law clerk for the California Office of the Attorney General and a law clerk for the San Diego County Public Defender.
