Ogletree Deakins Officially Establishes Presence in Western New York With the Opening of a Buffalo Office

Buffalo, N.Y. – June 17, 2024 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that the firm is expanding its New York presence with an office in Buffalo. This is the firm’s 56th office globally, after announcing a new office in Fresno, California, earlier this month. Richard Braden, who joined Ogletree Deakins in April, will serve as the Buffalo office managing shareholder. R. Scott DeLuca and Jeffrey Coren join Braden as the founding members of the Buffalo office.

Backed by nearly thirty years of experience, Braden is a trial attorney who counsels businesses in a wide variety of matters related to employment law and commercial litigation. He represents employers before administrative agencies and in state and federal court, including in employment discrimination lawsuits, employee benefits litigation, ADA Title III accessibility actions, and complex commercial cases. Braden regularly advises employers in many industries, including hospitality, manufacturing, and construction, on all aspects of the employment relationship.

DeLuca is a seasoned labor and employment law attorney with more than 25 years of experience. DeLuca’s practice focuses on handling matters before the EEOC and New York Division of Human Rights as well as employment litigation in state and federal courts. He also counsels employers regarding employment discrimination, wage payment requirements, employee benefits issues, leaves of absence, disability and religious accommodations, restrictive covenants and employment agreements, and other issues impacting the employer-employee relationship. DeLuca is experienced representing employers in numerous industries, including restaurants/hospitality, health care, and higher education.

Coren’s practice focuses on complex business litigation, employment disputes, breach of contract, business fraud, and matters involving cybersecurity and data privacy laws. He regularly represents companies to protect trade secrets and other confidential and proprietary information. Coren is also experienced in international litigation, including international arbitration proceedings, disputes involving foreign parties, cross-border discovery, customs litigation, and enforcing foreign judgments.
