Matthew W. Brown

Associate   |   Washington

Matthew is an associate in the firm’s employment practice group. He started his career as an associate at a regional law firm, where he represented sophisticated clients in their employment and commercial litigation matters. Matthew then served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Ebony Scott, Associate Judge, in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Prior to joining Ogletree, Matthew also served as an Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia (OAG), where he practiced as a civil litigator and enforced various regulations and statutes on behalf of the District.

Matthew’s mix of private and public sector experience allows him to effectively counsel clients and provide zealous advocacy in whatever venue their matters arise. Additionally, he remains an active member of the Washington Bar Association and the National Bar Association.

Originally from Atlanta, Matthew competed as a collegiate athlete in track and field for the University of Maryland before attending Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C.

When he is not litigating, Matthew enjoys running, spending time with his brothers, playing chess, and trying to lower his golf handicap at one of the many courses in the DMV area.
