Kari’s practice focuses on wage and hour class actions, as well as single-plaintiff claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. She provides advice and advocacy to a wide range of industries, including aerospace, education, manufacturing, retail, public entities, and technology. Kari regularly provides training on various legal updates affecting employers. In her litigation practice, she has vigorously defended clients through her motion practice, including successful motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment.
Kari received her J.D. from Southwestern Law School’s evening program and her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine. While in law school, Kari served as a Dean’s Fellow, Co-Vice President of the Latino Law Students Association, the Chair of the Board for the Trial Advocacy Honors Program, and the Special Projects Editor on the Board of the Southwestern Law Review. Additionally, Kari was a Certified Law Student in the Appellate Litigation Clinic and externed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
In her free time, Kari continues to volunteer her time as a coach for Southwestern Law School’s Trial Advocacy Honors Program. Through the Southwestern Alumni Association, she mentors first-generation law students. Over the past few years, Kari and her husband have made it a point to visit at least one new state each year on their wedding anniversary. So far, they have visited sixteen.
