Summer S. Khatib

Summer Khatib is an associate in the Orange County office of Ogletree Deakins. Her practice focuses on a wide array of employment litigation matters, including harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, PAGA, whistleblower, and discrimination claims. She also has experience working on union collective bargaining agreements and providing general employment advice and counseling. Summer represents employers in both state and federal court.

Summer has experience managing pre-litigation claims and pre-trial litigation, including drafting motions and pleadings, discovery, attending court hearings, and negotiation. Additionally, Summer’s prior experience includes defending universities and school districts against Title VII claims and First Amendment litigation.

Summer did her undergraduate studies at Chapman University, graduating magna cum laude with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy and Sociology. At Chapman, she was a midfielder for the NCAA women’s lacrosse team. A proud Trojan, Summer obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. There, she was a Saks Institute Scholar and Student Attorney for the Post-Conviction Justice Project. She was also one of the youngest students to ever graduate from Gould.

In her free time, Summer loves spending time with her daughter, husband, cats, and dogs. She enjoys fashion (vintage and runway) and loves to travel.
