Christopher T. Buckley

Chris is an experienced lawyer with a strong background in employment law and employee relations. He specializes in advising on disciplinary actions, internal investigations, policy compliance, and risk management, with a particular focus on defending harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims. Chris has extensive experience representing organizations in dispute resolution, negotiations, agency proceedings, and litigation.

Before joining Ogletree, Chris served as a legal and human resources consultant for a healthcare system, where he provided strategic support and guidance on complex employee relations matters. In that role, he advised on accommodation requests, performance management, behavioral concerns, policy violations, disciplinary actions, and terminations, all while mitigating risk and maintaining workplace morale. Prior to that, Chris worked as an attorney at a prominent employment law firm, defending employers against administrative charges filed with local, state, and federal agencies nationwide. His earlier experience includes working for a captive law firm of a major insurance company, where he represented employers and non-profit organizations in employment, civil rights, and director & officer litigation at the agency, trial, and appellate levels.

Outside of his professional life, Chris is a devoted husband to his wonderful wife and a proud father of two young daughters who keep him on his toes. Their family is completed by their energetic dog, Princess Lucy, who brings joy and excitement to their home. Chris loves spending time with his family traveling, biking, hiking, and camping, making the most of the great outdoors. When he has some downtime, he enjoys woodworking, creating pieces that blend both function and beauty. Chris is also an avid Chicago Bears fan and holds out hope that the Bears will someday have a season that meets his high offseason expectations.
