Anoop S. Kahlon is located in the firm’s Buffalo office, where his practice encompasses all aspects of labor and employment law. Anoop has extensive experience in counseling and defending clients facing employment and labor issues, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour, and other labor law claims. In addition to state courts and federal courts, he has represented clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the New York State Division of Human Rights. Anoop is also well-versed in class/collective action litigation, where he has defended clients in multi-million dollar lawsuits involving wage and hour issues of all kinds under the FLSA and the labor law of New York and Illinois. He focuses on developing winning strategies for the defense of large-scale class and collective actions and has extensive experience conducting strategic discovery in such cases. Anoop also represents and counsels employers on labor relations matters, including union issues, grievances, and arbitrations.
Anoop handles matters from inception through completion, including conduction in depth fact investigations, legal research and writing, preparation of pleadings and other legal documents, depositions, settlement negotiations, mediations, and court appearances. In addition to his litigation and labor experience, Anoop also focuses on partnering with clients to address day-to-day counseling issues, covering the gamut of employment matters and implementing workplace policies that focus on risk management and compliance.Â
Anoop graduated from the University of Guelph (Canada) with a B.Sc. in Biological Science. Thereafter, he attended Syracuse University College of Law, where he received his law degree. While at Syracuse, Anoop interned with a mid-sized employment law firm in Washington, D.C., where he gained litigation experience working on cases involving discrimination, harassment, ERISA, fraud, and whistleblowers.
Outside of the office, Anoop enjoys golf, soccer, basketball, and travelling with his wife.
