Ogletree Deakins Names New Co-Chair to its Higher Education Practice Group

Bethany Wagner, shareholder in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, has been selected to serve as co-chair of the firm’s Higher Education Practice Group. She will serve alongside Birmingham shareholder Lisa Karen Atkins, who co-founded the group in 2012 with Birmingham shareholder James Pennington.

Bethany has extensive higher education experience as a former collegiate athletic department executive. Her practice focuses on counseling higher education clients on athletic-related matters, handling Title IX and NCAA compliance issues, and conducting investigations involving allegations of sexual assault and hazing. The Higher Education Practice Group provides litigation defense, regulatory compliance, nondiscrimination, and additional legal services to public and private institutions and other businesses needing education-related legal advice.
