Bryan Davis, Jr. serves as counsel in the Birmingham, Michigan office and has been involved in actions arising in both state and federal courts, with Bryan successfully advocating on behalf of clients in matters involving administrative appeals, governmental immunity, and challenges to state labor legislation. A consistent throughout his career, Bryan has been involved countless issues and actions involving traditional labor law, both within the public and private sectors. Such matters have arisen under the National Labor Relations Act, Michigan’s Public Employment Relations Act, and Michigan’s Compulsory Arbitration of Labor Disputes in Police and Fire Departments.
Bryan previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan’s Department of Attorney General, working with the Department’s Labor Division. Bryan’s work as an AAG primarily focused on representation of the State of Michigan, its agencies, commissions, and employees, in both administrative matters and litigation arising in state and federal courts. During such time, Bryan handled cases arising in Michigan Circuit Courts, Michigan’s Court of Claims, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court.
Bryan’s background has also included representation of both public and private labor organizations. In his capacity as in-house legal counsel, Bryan handled proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and the Michigan Employment Relations Commission, and assisted clients with collective bargaining agreements, grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, interest arbitration, and fact finding.
Bryan commits himself to exploring novel and creative solutions for clients in a multitude of scenarios, but remains a firm believer that the greatest achievements he can obtain for clients is found by engaging in professional, respectful, and meaningful dialogue with opposing parties.
