Arthur Schoeffler

Arthur Schoeffler is an attorney at Ogletree Deakins’ Montréal office, where he advises and represents employers on all aspects of employment and labor law. Arthur is known for his practical, business-oriented solutions to complex workplace issues, ensuring that employers can navigate the intricacies of labor relations with confidence.

Arthur holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations, earned with distinction on the Rector’s Honour Roll, as well as a Master’s degree in Labor and Employment Law. He is a proud member of both the Québec Bar and the Paris Bar. He also holds the designation of Certified Industrial Relations Advisor (CRIA).

His practice encompasses a wide range of employment and labor law matters, including discipline and terminations, employment standards, human rights, and occupational health and safety. He represents employers before grievance arbitrators and the Administrative Labour Tribunal in contested matters, and regularly drafts and reviews employment contracts, workplace policies, and disciplinary measures.

Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Arthur served as Senior Labour Relations Counsel for a unionized public-sector organization in Montréal. He previously practiced for eight years as a labor and employment lawyer in Paris within a boutique labor and employment law firm, where he maintained a litigation-focused practice before judicial and administrative courts, including appellate courts.

Arthur’s extensive experience in both the public and private sectors allows him to provide well-rounded guidance that factors in relevant business considerations. His background in in-house counsel roles and private practice has equipped him with a deep understanding of the need for timely and practical solutions.
