Joseph E. Ashman

Joseph Ashman is a government contracts and litigation attorney who helps companies do business with the federal government confidently, compliantly, and with clear business objectives in mind. With more than 20 years of experience spanning private practice, the U.S. Department of Justice, and service as in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 defense contractor, He brings a practical, business-focused perspective to federal procurement and dispute matters.

Joseph’s time in-house shapes how he advises clients. He understands the operational, commercial, and compliance pressures businesses face when performing government contracts, and tailors his counseling accordingly. Clients rely on him for business-friendly guidance on all aspects of federal procurement and regulatory compliance, including the FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific acquisition rules, as well as contract administration, change management, REAs, and intellectual property and data rights protection.

He also represents clients in complex government contracts disputes, including CDA claims, bid protests, and contract litigation involving U.S. government agencies.
