Mason Gardner is well-versed in the human resources function. He defends employers in various ERISA and employment disputes and provides advice and counsel on ERISA and federal and state employment law compliance. More specifically, Mason defends employers in and advises employers on all areas of the HR function such as ERISA breach of fiduciary duty, COBRA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (discrimination, hostile work environment, retaliation, etc.),  Age Discrimination (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), reductions in force / WARN Act, and federal and state wage and hour laws. He also drafts employment agreements, separation agreements, and employee handbooks.

Before joining Ogletree, he practiced employment and employee benefits law at global Am Law 20 and Am Law 200 firms. During law school, Mason served as the Executive Editor on the Houston Journal of International Law and was an active moot court team member.

He is an Eagle Scout, and in his free time, you can find him participating in outdoor sporting activities and fitness competitions, at the local CrossFit gym, hiking national parks, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.
