In a interview with USA TODAY, Ogletree Deakins Disability Access Practice Group co-chair Jim Paul discusses the rising prominence of religious objections to AI usage in the workplace.
Due to the recent encyclical issued by Pope Leo XIV and guidance from other religious leaders, employers are likely to see an influx of legal objections to AI for religious reasons. In his analysis, Paul states that, “An employee has to show that they truly believe this [basis for their religious objection], that they’re complying with whatever rules they’re laying out in their day-to-day life, and it’s pretty hard.”
