Rena Martine is Client Team Counsel at Ogletree Deakins. Her practice focuses on employment law and wage and hour arbitration.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Rena served for 14 years as a Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where she managed complex felony matters through all phases of litigation, from investigation trhough trial. She served as lead counsel in hundreds of felony matters involving homicide, sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, and other complex, high-exposure cases, where she developed extensive experience evaluating evidence, examining witnesses, and litigating complex legal and factual issues. She also served in the Justice System Integrity Division, where she investigated, charged, and prosecuted cases involving officer-involved shootings and allegations of misconduct by members of the justice system. In addition, she trained law enforcement personnel on investigative and forensic interviewing techniques.
Rena draws on her experience as a trial lawyer, investigator, and educator to represent employers, offering a practical approach to risk assessment, workplace investigations, litigation strategy, and dispute resolution.
Rena earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where she served as an Author and Developments Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review and was twice selected for publication by the journal. In addition to her legal practice, Rena is the author of a book, a TEDx speaker, and a recurring guest expert on NBC, sharing insights on communication, behavioral health, trauma, and interpersonal dynamics.
