Derek R. Noack

Derek Noack is a shareholder in Ogletree’s Las Vegas office. He has more than a decade of litigation experience, including defending employers and entities against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation including before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and in state and federal courts.

Derek has served as lead trial counsel in jury and bench trials, securing favorable defense verdicts. Derek handles all aspects of employment litigation, from pre-litigation strategy and EEOC charges through discovery, depositions, motion practice, arbitration, and trial. He has also worked with employers to draft or update employee handbooks and implement best practices in workplace policies.

Derek is licensed to practice in both Nevada and California. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California San Diego, where he received his bachelor’s degree in History. Before entering law school, Derek managed recreational classes and youth programs at UC San Diego, including the development of a work experience volunteer program for local high school students. At University of San Diego School of Law, he was the Managing Editor of the International Law Journal. Derek was a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael M. Anello of the Southern District of California and was a certified legal intern for both the San Diego County District Attorney’s Insurance Fraud team and the Attorney General’s Employment and Administrative Mandates section. Derek also worked for UC San Diego’s Ethics and Compliance Office on policy and handbook development as well as facilitating whistle-blower investigations.
