Eben N. Kohtz

Eben Kohtz is an associate in the Salt Lake City office of Ogletree Deakins. She represents and advises employers on a wide range of labor and employment law matters.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Eben completed a judicial clerkship with Judge Ryan Harris at the Utah Court of Appeals, where she gained firsthand insight into judicial reasoning and appellate advocacy. She earned her J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. During law school, she served as an Executive Footnote Editor for the Utah Law Review. She was also a research assistant for the Bystander Initiative, co-authoring an article published in the Albany Government Law Review.

Eben remains actively involved in the Utah legal community. She serves on the Young Alumni Association for the S.J. Quinney College of Law and the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Utah State Bar.

Before law school, Eben earned her B.S. in Geography from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She then moved to Philadelphia to serve as a City Year AmeriCorps Member, where she provided mentorship and English-literacy tutoring to students in an elementary school classroom. Eben was born and raised in Nebraska and enjoys traveling back to the Midwest to visit her family and friends. In her free time, she likes to run and train for marathons.
