Katherine Tierney is an associate in the Chicago office of Ogletree Deakins, where she represents employers in litigation matters and conducts investigations. Prior to joining Ogletree, Katherine worked at a national law firm for four years, where she focused her practice on colleges, universities, and the businesses and nonprofits that serve them. The majority of Katherine’s work involved federal litigation matters and investigations. Representative matters include defending a private university against a Title VII claim brought by a former professor and investigating allegations of race-based discrimination at a public university.
Katherine graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude, in 2022, and earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, cum laude, in 2019. In addition to her formal academic credentials, Katherine earned a Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from eCornell in 2024 because she is passionate about supporting employers in creating more inclusive work environments.
