Dean Kandi is an associate attorney in the Miami office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Dean practiced at an appellate and litigation defense firm, focusing on appellate and trial-support matters in insurance defense, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. His experience includes drafting appellate briefs, petitions for certiorari and mandamus, and substantive motions resolving complex evidentiary and procedural issues.
Dean received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida International University School of Law, where he was a recurring Dean’s List honoree. While in law school, Dean received multiple Book Awards for achieving the highest grade in his courses, including Trial Advocacy, Federal Income Tax, Criminal Law, and Legal Skills and Writing III. A dedicated advocate, Dean also competed in a national moot court competition, winning both the Best Brief award and Quarterfinalist finish.
Dean completed his undergraduate studies at Florida International University’s Honors College, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
