Christina K. Wernick

Shareholder   |   Chicago

Christina represents management in labor relations matters, with a particular emphasis on collective bargaining and the unique legal issues facing union-signatory contractors and contractor associations. She is a go-to resource for companies navigating collective bargaining and union organizing, and she has developed a niche in construction industry union agreements. Christina also has significant experience counseling clients on Illinois and federal prevailing wage requirements, including the issues unique to the renewable energy industry. She advocates for clients in federal and state courts, before the American Arbitration Association (AAA), before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and before the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL).

Before entering private practice, Christina spent nearly a decade as in-house counsel to a prominent Chicagoland construction union and its multiemployer fringe benefit funds. That experience gives her a practical understanding of the union’s perspective at the bargaining table. Before joining Ogletree Deakins, she was an equity partner at a Chicago-based labor and employment law firm.
