Katie Bostrom is an attorney with experience representing employers in all areas of employment litigation and providing preventative, proactive advice and counsel across a wide range of personnel management and compliance issues throughout Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, and Utah.
Katie’s practice focuses on serving federally recognized Native American and First Nation tribes, councils, and their related entities, including government contractors, in navigating the increasingly complex intersections of state and federal employment laws with tribal laws and conducting culturally competent workplace and whistleblower investigations.
Originally from Montana, Katie, whose Dakota name is Walking Thunder Woman (Wakíŋyaŋ Máni Wíŋyaŋ in the Dakota language), is an enrolled tribal member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes. Katie earned her bachelor’s degree from North Dakota State University, where she was team captain for the school’s Division I Track and Cross-Country teams before receiving her law degree from the University of Colorado. While in law school, Katie clerked at the United States District Court in Colorado for the Honorable Kristen L. Mix and assisted clients through the University’s Criminal and Immigration Clinic.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Katie spent her entire career building her multistate employment law experience at an international law firm dedicated to labor and employment law.
