CHICAGO – June 21, 2006 – The Chicago office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins) is please to announce that attorney Thomas Vasiljevich has been named Chairman of the Federal Taxation Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association. Mr. Vasiljevich will serve as Chairman for the 2006-2007 fiscal year effective immediately. Previously, he was Vice-Chair for the Council.
Comprised of 15 lawyers from around the state of Illinois, The Federal Taxation Section Council seeks to inform and counsel members of the Bar on current federal taxation developments. In addition, the Council reviews and explains federal tax laws, regulations, and court decisions, and helps to improve and monitor comprehension of the federal tax system.
“It’s an honor to be named Chairman and to be a part of the Council,” said Vasiljevich. “The Federal Taxation Section Council plays an important role in keeping Bar members up to date on federal taxation developments, and I look forward to serving on it again.”
