SEC Launches New Enforcement Unit for Accounting Fraud
On August 5, 2026, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced the establishment of a new financial reporting and accounting unit within the agency’s enforcement division. This is the second targeted enforcement unit announced since Enforcement Director David Woodcock rejoined the SEC in April.
