On May 13, a bill (S1926) was introduced and referred to the Senate Labor Committee that provides that the Department of Labor and Workforce Development may request the court to grant an injunction against any employer that violates any provisions of New Jersey’s mini-WARN Act, the “Millville Dallas Airmotive Plant Job Loss Notification Act.” Similar versions of this bill were introduced in June 2008 (S1957 and A2935, see the July 2008 issue) and October 2008 (S2177, see the November 2008 issue) but failed to gain traction.
