With a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators announcing a broad proposal for immigration reform and a similar bipartisan effort underway in the House, the prospect of comprehensive immigration reform appears to be gaining momentum. In light of last November’s election results and immigration issues being important to Latinos—the fastest-growing demographic in the country—the GOP is shifting its position on immigration.
