On November 23, 2009, the “Emergency Responders Employment Protection Act” (S3008) was introduced to provide certain employment protections for volunteer emergency responders who, because they are providing emergency services, fail to report to work. A similar bill (A4252) passed by the Assembly on June 25, 2009, and reported in the July 2009 issue of the New Jersey eAuthority, remains pending.
