As we reported in the December 10, 2013 issue of the New Jersey eAuthority, the New Jersey Department of Labor (NJDOL) recently made available the gender equity notice. Effective January 6, 2014, the gender equity notice must be posted and distributed by all New Jersey employers with 50 or more employees. The NJDOL subsequently made available a Spanish version of the notice, which is required to be distributed along with the English notice when the employer reasonably believes Spanish is the first language of a significant number of its workforce. In addition, the NJDOL revised the English and Spanish notices to incorporate a sample Acknowledgment of Receipt (suitable for use when the acknowledgment is obtained in hard copy, as opposed to by email).
