The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development recently amended the Administrative Code governing wage withholdings, N.J.A.C. §12:55-2.1, to allow employers to deduct health club membership fees or fees for child care services, so long as (1) the employee authorizes the withholdings in writing and/or pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement, and (2) such deductions are approved by the employer.
