On November 23, 2009, two bills (A4226/S3056) were introduced that would clarify the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination’s (LAD) definition of developmental disability to now specifically include “autism spectrum disorders.” The bills are based upon a recommendation included in the October 2009 report of the Adults with Autism Task Force. A4226 passed in the Assembly on December 7, 2009.
