On April 14, 2015, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) implemented its new “ambush election” rules, which make unionizing a workforce faster and easier. Since the new rules went into effect, numerous union election petitions have been filed in New Jersey, most of them going to election within 21 days of their filing.
