During the COVID-19 pandemic, many employers in the manufacturing industry have remained open as “essential businesses” or have recently reopened and face unique challenges trying to keep workers safe. While the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) does not have a specific COVID-19 standard, there are other OSHA standards, regulations, and guidelines that may apply to potential employee exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace. In this webinar, the speakers will discuss the OSHA standards, regulations, and guidelines that employers in the manufacturing industry should be aware of when deciding how to protect their workers and strategies for addressing the increased scrutiny by OSHA, employees, customers, and other stakeholders regarding worker safety. The speakers will also discuss how efforts at the state level to develop COVID-19-related laws may affect manufacturing employers.
