To say that the healthcare industry faces unique issues during the pandemic would be an understatement. Those issues are coupled with privacy concerns and obligations—some preexisting, some arising from state emergency standards, and some imposed by occupational safety and health standards such as the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health’s (Cal/ OSHA) Aerosol Transmissible Diseases Standard, which covers healthcare providers and excepts them from the agency’s emergency temporary standards. The various standards are complicated and challenging, to say the least. In this webinar, the speakers will address the status of healthcare safety and health regulations, clarify the legal landscape that healthcare employers will likely face as COVID-19 vaccines are rolled out, and explore the forthcoming emergency temporary standard that President Biden has directed OSHA to promulgate by March 15, 2021. The speakers will also discuss other issues of concern for the healthcare industry.
