On September 14, 2023, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced a moratorium on processing employee retention credit (ERC) claims due to a perceived high-level of invalid submissions. This pause remains in effect for claims submitted during the moratorium period and for previously submitted claims that the IRS considers low-risk. The processing of these low-risk claims will continue at a slow pace for the remainder of 2024. In this webinar, the speakers will discuss how employers with valid ERC claims, some dating back to 2022, can expedite the review process. Topics will include ERC eligibility criteria, the current status of the IRS’s processing of ERC claims, and potential next steps for employers seeking valid ERC refunds.
