On September 19, 2025, President Trump issued a Presidential Proclamation, “Restriction of Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers.” This proclamation contemplates that beginning in April 2026, employers must either obtain a national interest exception or pay $100,000 for each new H-1B “cap” petition filed. In this webinar, the speakers will provide a practical overview of the proclamation and the national interest exception, offering essential information for employers as they prepare for the 2026 H-1B cap season. The speakers will also explain what to expect from the U.S. Department of Labor, particularly in relation to the proclamation’s instruction to amend the prevailing wage levels to prioritize highly paid H-1B workers.
