On July 24, 2009, the federal minimum wage will increase to $7.25/hour, which is higher than New Jersey’s current minimum wage of $7.15/hour. Because no state can set a minimum wage below the federal minimum wage, effective July 24, New Jersey’s minimum wage automatically will increase to the federal level of $7.25/hour.

As the world faces the ongoing threat of the coronavirus pandemic, pension plan administration is often taking place from remote working locations. Prospective retirees and their spouses may increasingly find themselves in those vulnerable populations that are encouraged to avoid public outings as much as possible.
