ATLANTA – August 1, 2006 – Just a year after opening its Phoenix office, employment and labor law firm Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart P.C. (Ogletree Deakins) is expanding its presence in the West by opening a Tucson office. The firm now has 25 offices across the country, with more than 300 lawyers dedicated to the practice of employment and labor law.
Established lawyers Tibor Nagy and Jim Mackie, both former partners with Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., and former chairmen of the State Bar of Arizona Labor & Employment Section, are the founding shareholders of the new office. Additional professionals will join the firm in the coming weeks, including associate Erica Rocush.
Nagy and Mackie represent many of the top employers in the Tucson area on employment and labor issues, offering counsel and litigation representation in areas including wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, anti-competition covenants and trade secrets, employment contracts, manuals and policies.
“As Phoenix and Tucson are a soon-to-be ‘megatropolis,’ the addition of an office in southern Arizona makes perfect sense and allows us to further expand our presence in the West,” said Gray Geddie, Ogletree Deakins’ managing shareholder. “With the established reputations of Tibor and Jim, we have the ideal complement to our growing national employment and labor law practice.”
