BIRMINGHAM, AL – April 21, 2008 – The Birmingham office of Ogletree Deakins is pleased to announce that attorney T. Scott Kelly has been elected Chair of the Labor and Employment Committee for the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD). The Committee provides young lawyers who are interested in labor and employment law with information and opportunities for networking and professional development.
In his role as Chair of the YLD Labor and Employment Committee, Mr. Kelly will be responsible for leading the Committee, spearheading related CLE programming, developing 101 and 201 Practice Series materials for use in the Division’s publications and website, and supervising the Vice-Chairs. He will begin his 2008-09 term on August 9. Previously, Mr. Kelly held the position of Co-Chair on the Committee.
As an associate in the firm’s Birmingham office, Mr. Kelly represents management in all aspects of employment law. He has litigated a wide variety of employment issues in federal, state, and local levels before court and administrative agencies, and has represented employers in OFCCP compliance reviews. He also has prepared affirmative action programs for financial and professional institutions. Mr. Kelly is a frequent lecturer in the areas of employment discrimination and affirmative action. He received a B.A. degree from Birmingham-Southern College in 1996 and a law degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in 2000.
