TAMPA, FL – June 24, 2008 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), the nation’s third largest labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce Raymond S. Castro has joined the firm’s Tampa office. He will hold an of counsel position with the firm.
Mr. Castro has more than thirty years of experience in litigation and employment law and is Board Certified as a specialist in Labor and Employment Law by the Florida Bar Association. His experience includes legal matters arising under Equal Employment Opportunity laws, wage and hour law, NLRB, employment contracts, drug testing, executive severance contracts, and employment litigation in state and federal court.
Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Mr. Castro spent time in private practice with his own firm Castro Law Group, P.A. Prior to that, he practiced with two national law firms – Akerman Senterfitt and DLA Piper. In the early ‘90s, Mr. Castro served as Vice President of Human Resources, Atlantic Division, for ADVO, Inc., the largest direct mail marketing firm in the United States. Prior to his position at ADVO, Inc., Mr. Castro was Employment Compliance Manager for Taco Bell, responsible for labor and employment matters for its 65,000 employees.
Mr. Castro earned his B.A from Christian Brothers University in 1970. He earned his law degree from the University of Memphis in 1974.
