NASHVILLE, TN – November 4, 2008 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), the nation’s third largest labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce John G. Harrison—a native Nashvillian and Ogletree Deakins shareholder who has spent the past 17 years in the firm’s Dallas office—has come home to Tennessee and joined the firm’s Nashville office. Mr. Harrison, who is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Texas, will maintain a proactive employment-law practice in both states.
“We are delighted that John is bringing his outstanding legal talents and experience back home to Nashville,” said Tom Davis, managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins’ Nashville office. “John is a gifted attorney who will be a superior resource for our clients and our firm.”
Mr. Harrison, an alumnus of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, focuses his practice exclusively on the representation of employers in matters of personnel policies and practices, employment law, wage-hour compliance, and traditional labor relations. He has extensive experience in the litigation of claims in state and federal courts and administrative agencies throughout the U.S. He has been regularly recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine, and has been recognized by BTI Consulting Group as an “All-Star” for outstanding client service.
Mr. Harrison earned his B.A. from Baylor University in 1988 and his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1991. After graduation, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sidney A. Fitzwater of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas in Dallas. Thereafter, Mr. Harrison joined McFall Law Firm, a Texas labor law boutique that merged with Ogletree Deakins in January 2000.
