Ogletree Deakins Moves Up 12 Positions in “Am Law 200” List

ATLANTA, GA – July 1, 2009 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), the nation’s third-largest labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce it moved up a full 12 positions on the prestigious “Am Law 200” list of top U.S. law firms.  Ogletree Deakins ranked 137 on the list, which is compiled by The American Lawyer magazine and published each June, spotlighting law-firm performance for the previous calendar year. The list ranks the nation’s top law firms based on gross revenue, revenue per lawyer, and profits per partner.

“This is great news for our firm,” said Ogletree Deakins’ Managing Shareholder Gray Geddie, Jr. “We first cracked the ‘Am Law 200’ list for our firm’s performance in 2004, and since then have dramatically risen in the rankings.  We had a solid 2008, with revenue up more than 14 percent over the previous year.
