Ogletree Deakins Welcomes Stuart D. Tochner to Its Los Angeles Office

LOS ANGELES, CA – August 3, 2009 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins) is pleased to announce that Stuart D. Tochner has joined its Los Angeles office as a shareholder. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tochner was a labor and employment partner at Musick Peeler in Los Angeles.

Mr. Tochner represents employers in a diverse array of labor and employment matters.  He regularly defends employers against claims for wrongful termination, wage and hour violations (including class-action defense), sexual harassment and discrimination.  He also represents employers in litigation arising from non-competition agreements and claims for misappropriation of trade-secrets.  He further advises employers with respect to employee discipline, discharge and leave of absence issues, and personnel policies and practices. Mr. Tochner has presented seminars for employers on many labor and employment law topics, including wrongful termination, sexual harassment, and discrimination. He also has conducted seminars on employment issues of specific interest to colleges and universities.

Mr. Tochner earned his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1981 and his law degree from the University of Southern California School of Law in 1985.
