Ogletree Deakins Welcomes Luther Wright as Of Counsel

NASHVILLE, TN – March 2, 2010 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Luther Wright has joined its Nashville office as Of Counsel.  Previously, Wright was a partner in the Nashville office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP.

Wright has extensive experience in the areas of labor and employment law, corporate business litigation, class action lawsuits, entertainment disputes and probate matters.  He represents management in employment litigation, Fair Labor Standards Act claims, union arbitrations and independent contractor disputes.  Wright has litigated significant business and entertainment disputes, representing national gaming companies, automotive companies, government contractors, restaurants, retail establishments, entertainment companies, recording artists and entrepreneurs.

Wright is very active in the community by serving on several boards and funding educational initiatives.  He and his wife created the Luther and Tiffany Wright Achievement Scholarship at Middle Tennessee State University to support financially disadvantaged juniors and seniors in the School of Mass Communications as they continue their education.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, National Bar Association, and Memphis Bar Association.  Wright is a Fellow of the Tennessee and Nashville Bar Foundations, and Past President of the Napier-Looby Bar Association.  He serves on the board of the One Fund and Community Access Corporation and is a past Board Chair and current Board Member of Students Taking A Right Stand (STARS).  Wright also served a three year term on the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors.
   
Wright earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1995, and a B.S., magna cum laude, from Middle Tennessee State University in 1992.
