Scott Hardy has joined its Pittsburgh office as a Shareholder. Previously, Hardy was a director in the Pittsburgh office of Cohen & Grigsby.
Hardy’s practice focuses on a wide range of labor and employment law issues and representing management in all types of litigation in federal and state courts across the United States. His litigation experience includes defending employers in investigations and lawsuits pursued by administrative agencies such as the Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. Hardy’s representative clients include a variety of industries including healthcare, higher education, trucking, and manufacturing.
Hardy counsels employers regarding all facets of their employment relationships. He routinely trains managers and employees on legal and ethical compliance, as well as, higher education institutions on student accommodation and related issues. His clients also seek his counsel in traditional labor settings such as arbitrations, National Labor Relations Board proceedings, and collective bargaining.

Hardy is active in his community and with his professional development. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Good Samaritan Hospice of Pittsburgh. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Greater Pittsburgh Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Professionally, Hardy is on the executive board of the W. Edward Sell Chapter of the American Inns of Court. He also serves as vice chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group for the American Healthcare Lawyers Association. Hardy is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.
Hardy has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. He is “AV” rated according to Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings, ranking him at the highest level of professional excellence.
Hardy earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 1996, and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Allegheny College in 1993.
