SAN FRANCISCO, CA – July 28, 2010 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Michelle Leetham has joined its San Francisco office as Of Counsel. Previously, Leetham spent 17 years with Bechtel Corporation where her role grew and she ultimately served as vice president, principal counsel and manager of the Bechtel legal department’s litigation, labor and employment group. In this role, Leetham was responsible for management of Bechtel’s worldwide caseload of uninsured, disputed matters and employment-related advice work. Leetham is particularly known for work and experience with respect to alternative dispute resolution, international arbitration, government audits, litigation management, class action issues and development of corporate employment policies and compliance programs.

Prior to her employment with Bechtel, Leetham was an attorney with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP in the firm’s San Francisco office. Leetham began her legal career with the California Supreme Court as a clerk for Chief Justice Malcolm Lewis. She earned her J.D. from the University of California School of Law in Berkeley where she was a member of the Order of the Coif.
