Ogletree Deakins Earns “Powerhouse” Ratings in BTI Litigation Outlook 2013 Report

   |   Press Release

ATLANTA – September 4, 2012 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins) is pleased to announce that the firm has received the highest rating in the areas of complex employment litigation and routine employment litigation in a national survey of more than 350 senior in-house attorneys published by the BTI Consulting Group. In The BTI Litigation Outlook 2013: Changes, Trends and Opportunities for Law Firms report, Ogletree Deakins earned the distinction of a “Powerhouse” in both categories. In the area of complex employment litigation, Ogletree Deakins is the only firm to receive the top “Powerhouse” rating and is one of only two firms to be rated a “Powerhouse” in handling routine employment litigation.

“We are honored to receive this recognition as it is a reflection of the trust and partnership we have with our clients,” said Kim Ebert, Managing Shareholder of Ogletree Deakins. “This recognition is also the product of hard work by our entire team across the firm’s national platform and reinforces the commitment of each of our attorneys to premier client service.”

The BTI Litigation Outlook 2013 reports that corporate counsel are seeking opportunities to transform the legal department from a soaring cost center to a strategic asset designed to reduce risk and contain costs. According to BTI, corporate counsel are increasingly dedicated to disposing of litigation as quickly and effectively as possible, whether by savvy legal strategy, negotiation, settlement, or other means. This determined focus on resolution is driving dynamic shifts in how clients litigate, including how they use early case assessment, technology tools, litigation management, alternative fees, and, most importantly, law firms.
