LAFAYETTE, La. – March 2, 2015 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Greg Guidry as a shareholder in Louisiana. Guidry joins Ogletree Deakins from Onebane Law Firm, where he led the firm’s Labor & Employment Law Practice Group and formerly served as chairman of the firm’s board of directors. Guidry’s arrival at Ogletree Deakins immediately strengthens the firm’s capabilities in western Louisiana and across the southern United States. He will open a satellite office of the Ogletree Deakins New Orleans office in Lafayette, Louisiana.
For more than 35 years, Guidry has represented management in all aspects of labor and employment law, including advice, training, and litigation throughout the United States and internationally. He focuses his traditional labor law practice on union avoidance, union elections, collective bargaining, arbitrations, and NLRB issues. In his employment law practice, Guidry handles matters related to a full range of issues, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Guidry represents clients in a variety of industries including health care, oil and gas, manufacturing, non-profit, and government.

Guidry has been recognized by a number of prominent legal organizations over the course of his career. Guidry was also elected as a Fellow of The College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, earned an AV Preeminent® rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, and has been named a Louisiana Super Lawyer® for a number of years.
Guidry is very active in the Louisiana legal and business communities. He is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association and serves as president of the Management Labor & Employment Roundtable. He also serves as chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s annual employment law seminar, and frequently lectures and writes on labor and employment law topics. Guidry earned his J.D. from Louisiana State University Law Center.
