Ogletree Deakins Adds Renowned Employment Litigator to Dallas Office

DALLAS – January 7, 2016 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, continues to build its ranks in Texas with the addition of renowned labor and employment litigator Gary Eisenstat, who joins the firm’s Dallas office as a shareholder. Eisenstat comes to Ogletree Deakins from Figari & Davenport, where he practiced for nearly three decades and represented management in all aspects of employment law.

Eisenstat has extensive litigation experience representing management in wage and hour disputes, claims related to discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and unfair competition, covenants not to compete, theft or misappropriation of trade secrets, as well as agency and partnership disputes. Eisenstat also represents executives in employment matters, such as negotiating employment agreements and severance packages, and counsels employers in pre-litigation employment matters, including class action avoidance. Eisenstat often defends labor and employment cases in federal and state courts, arbitration proceedings, and appearances before governmental administrative agencies and tribunals. He represents clients in a wide range of industries including in the aerospace and defense, health care, real estate, and e-commerce sectors.

Eisenstat is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and a Fellow in the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers. He has been named as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Texas in 2015 by Super Lawyers and included among D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas in Labor and Employment law. He has also been listed in both Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers and holds an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Eisenstat is the immediate past President and current board member of the Dallas region of the American Jewish Committee and a vice president of the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance. He is also an active member of the American Employment Law Council. Eisenstat earned his J.D. from Boston University in 1985 and earlier received his B.S. from the University of Colorado.
